The eighth month, the fourth month of the Hindu calendar, begins on Wednesday, June 15. The month of Ashadh will begin on 15th June with the pratipada of Krishna Paksha and will end on Wednesday 13th July. Devashyani Ekadashi, Yogini Ekadashi, Mithun Sankranti, Sankashti Chaturthi, Monthly Shivaratri, Amavasya, Purnima, Pradosh Vrat, Guru Purnima, Jagannath Rathyatra, Gupta Navratri fasting and festivals are coming in this month. Kashi's astrologer Chakrapani Bhattaka says that worshiping Lord Vishnu in Ashadh month brings special grace. It is in this month that Lord Vishnu goes into yoga sleep, since the Chaturmas begins and no auspicious work is done for four months as all the deities fall asleep during these four months.
