The meteorological department said that the south-west monsoon in Kerala is likely to start earlier than usual this year. The monsoon in Kerala is likely to arrive on May 27 with a four-day model error.
Where can the monsoon knock?
The monsoon will first hit the South Andaman Sea and then the monsoon winds will move north-west in the Bay of Bengal. The southwest monsoon is expected to reach the Andaman Sea around May 22. The IMD said that with the intensity of tropical winds, southwest monsoon rains are expected around May 15 in the southern Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and parts of southeastern Bay of Bengal.

However, the IMD (India Meteorological Department) said that past data showed that the onset of monsoon in the Andaman Sea had nothing to do with the onset of monsoon in Kerala.
