Meanwhile, 27 bodies were found one after another from the building. Most of those killed were victims of suffocation and burns caused by the fire.

According to sources, the three-storey building had a narrow CDO on one side only to get around. A generator was installed under the CDO. It is said that a fire broke out in the same generator on Friday evening, the smoke of which was being filled upstairs by the CDO. People tried to get down from the stairs to escape the smoke but they could not succeed due to fire in the generator below. The fire brigade later used stairs and cranes to evacuate those trapped in the building.
The owners of the company were detained
The owners of the company - Harish Goyal and Varun Goyal - have been taken into custody, police said. The owner of the building has been identified as Manish Lakra. Manish Lakra said he lived on the top floor of the building. A case is being registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Firefighters were not injured
Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg said no firefighters were injured in the operation. Six fire tenders are still present at the scene and three to four people are feared trapped in the building. He said there was a company office on the first floor. More than 50 of its employees were evacuated, while the bodies of 27 people were found.
