મહાદાનનું મહત્વ સ્કંદ પુરાણના પ્રભાસખંડમાં જણાવવામાં આવ્યું છે. આ પ્રમાણે ગાય, સોનું, ચાંદી, રત્ન, શિક્ષણ, તલ, કન્યા, હાથી, ઘોડો, પલંગ, વસ્ત્ર, જમીન, અન્ન, દૂધ, છત્ર અને અન્ય જરૂરી વસ્તુઓનું દાન કરવું ખૂબ જ શુભ છે. બીજી તરફ ગરુડ પુરાણમાં કહેવામાં આવ્યું છે કે જે વ્યક્તિ દાન નથી કરતો તે ગરીબ બની જાય છે. તેથી, તમારી પાસે જે પણ આવક છે, તેનો એક ભાગ ચોક્કસપણે દાન કરો. 

અનેકગણું ફળ મળશે

ધાર્મિક ગ્રંથોમાં કહેવામાં આવ્યું છે કે કેટલાક દાન એવા હોય છે, જેનું ફળ આ જન્મમાં મળે છે, જ્યારે કેટલાક દાન આગામી જન્મમાં મળે છે. બીજી તરફ, અમુક દિવસોમાં કરવામાં આવેલું દાન સામાન્ય દિવસો કરતાં અનેક ગણું વધુ ફળ આપે છે. અક્ષય તૃતીયા પણ આવો દિવસ છે. આ દિવસે દાન કરવાથી 10 ગણું વધુ ફળ મળે છે. આ દિવસે જવ, ગોળ, ચણા, ઘી, મીઠું, તલ, કાકડી, કેરી, કેરી, લોટ, કઠોળ, કપડાં, પાણીના ઘડાનું દાન કરવું ખૂબ જ શુભ છે. આ દાન કુંડળીમાં ગ્રહોની સ્થિતિને મજબૂત બનાવે છે અને જીવનની દરેક બાબતમાં સફળતાની શરૂઆત થાય છે.
