The new rule will reduce the incidence of fraud with customers New Delhi: There is an important news for people using credit cards and debit cards. There is going to be a change in the card-on-file tokenization rule of the Reserve Bank of India from October 1. According to the Reserve Bank of India, the change in the tokenization system will improve the payment convenience of cardholders and debit card and credit card transactions will be more secure than before. As per the RBI rule, henceforth all details will be saved in an encrypted code when a customer transacts through a debit or credit card online, point of sale or through an app. Under the new system, the Reserve Bank has banned payment companies from storing customers' credit card or debit card data. Payment companies now have to provide an alternative code, called a tone, instead of a card. This tone will be unique and the same tone will work for more than one card. After this implementation online payment will have to use a unit tone instead of using card directly. According to this new rule of RBI, the credit limit cannot be increased without taking permission from the customer. Also, if no payment has been made, the charges or taxes etc. cannot be capitalized while adding interest.
