Chaturmas 2022: When will Chaturmas or Chaumas start? Learn what it means and what it means
Chaturmas starts from Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. Chaturmas is also known as Chaumasa. Chaturmas i.e. Shravan, Bhadrapad, Ashwin and Kartak These four months are not auspicious because during these four months Lord Vishnu is in yoga sleep. Puri's astrologer Dr. Ganesh Mishra states that from Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi i.e. Devashyani Ekadashi all the deities including Lord Vishnu fall asleep. In these four months only Shiva family is worshiped. In place of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva is the guardian of the universe for four months. On Devutha's Ekadashi, when all the deities, including Sri Hari Vishnu, come out of yoga sleep, the auspicious work begins again. Let us know the beginning and end time of Chaturmas.

Chaturmas means four months. Which in four months the gods go into yoga sleep. Chaturmas includes 5 dates of Ashadh month in Chaturmas, while 4 dates after Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of Kartak month are not included in it.

In such a situation, if we count the date of Ekadashi from Ekadashi, then four months will come in Chaturmas.
First month: Ashadh Shukla Ekadashi to Shravan Shukla Ekadashi
Second month: Shravan Shukla Ekadashi to Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi
Third month: Bhadrapad Shukla Ekadashi to Ashwin Shukla Ekadashi
Fourth month: Ashwin Shukla Ekadashi to Kartik Shukla Ekadashi.
Importance of Chaturmas
1. In Chaturmas, Lord Shiva and his family are worshiped.
2. The most beloved month of Lord Bholenath comes only in Chaturmas, Savan means Shravan.
3. Chaturmas is called the night of the gods. During these four months all the deities including Shri Hari are in yoga sleep.
4. Tamasic instincts and powers increase in Chaturmas, so they observe restrained behavior and celibacy.
5. Due to Lord Vishnu being in yoga sleep, Manglik activities like marriage, shaving, house entry etc. do not take place.
6. You can worship Lord Vishnu in Chaturmas, there is no restriction on it.
