New Delhi: Amit Shah's son Jai Shah has filed a criminal defamation suit against The Wire news portal in Ahmedabad. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate SK Gadhvi has ordered an inquiry into the matter. The court will now hear the case two days later, on October 11. Jai Shah will present witnesses in his support in court on Wednesday. Seven people have been named in the case filed by Jai Shah, with Rohini Singh topping the list. Rohini Singh posted a story on 'The Wire' news portal, claiming that the business of Amit Shah's son Jai Shah's company has grown 16,000 times since the formation of Narendra Modi's government at the Center. Yesterday, Piyush Goyal told a press conference that Jai Shah would file a defamation suit worth Rs 100 crore in the case.
This whole issue is about social media comments and likes. Whatever is reported in The Wire is not the result of an investigation. All the facts mentioned in the report are available on the website of the Registrar of Companies. The case was exaggerated by two things - one was Amit Shah's name and the other was his interpretation that Amit Shah's son's company made a profit of sixteen thousand times in one year. Amit Shah's son Jai Shah has filed a defamation suit as he is strong on facts. But neither is the case so big that it should be discussed so much nor should a case of Rs 100 crore be filed.
