It consists of elected members of both Houses of Parliament, elected members of the Legislative Assemblies of the States and Union Territories. Nominated members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and members of the Legislative Council do not have the right to vote. There are currently 230 MPs in the 245-member Rajya Sabha. The 57-member membership is due to expire in June and July, although 41 of these seats have been elected unopposed, while the remaining seats will be up for election on June 10. The 12 Rajya Sabha MPs nominated by the President do not vote in the presidential election. At the same time, the 543-member Lok Sabha has 540 MPs. Three seats are vacant. The selection process is also underway. It is clear that by-elections will be held on all the vacant seats in the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Legislative Assembly before the Presidential and Vice-Presidential elections.
